  Would someone help me with identifying this coin ? Something isn't right. If that is a dime and it's only 10% off center, which it looks like... why is so much of the coin detail missing ? Is this struck on a half dime planchet ?

  Well i was at acoin store (when i first stared collecting)about 2 years ago.I was looking at morgans and my wife was looking through BARGAIN BEND when she showed me this coin.It was in paper holder and had "MYSTERY" on it .Price was 2 dollars so with morgans and eagle liberty halfs and kennedys i purchesed them.The guy who owned shop looked at the dime for a few min scrached his head a rung me up.I've asked about this coin alot but no luck.I can tell you that it is the same size as mercery dime (i set it on top but because it's not perfectly round you could see small parts of merc dime) the fields well lets say um to me look like they have been zerox copied on to the metal if that makes sense. on front there are two or three marks like it's been struck or something. what really get's me is on side of coin it has four what i call reed marks.Well that's about it till next time
