Mexico-Zacatecas 1/4 real

Talking specifically about KM#366. These were made between 1824 and 1864, and mintages are not given. Every one I've seen looks like complete hell!! Most dates list at $20 in VF but I have yet to see one that nice, and I have a feeling it would be more than $20.

Does anybody have any pics of a nice one, and/or know some place that has a nice one for sale?

I can add some evidence to your point, but I will include a little mystery as well. What happenend on the back of this one?

As any coinage, circulating in the early Mexican Republic - these most likely came in contact with grit - hence the poor condition. I haven't seen any uncirculated pieces, but then again - I haven't been looking at coppers of that period.

As far as the counter-stamp, I'd guess it was used as a hacienda token - payment to workers, perhaps. Would be interesting if you could find the hacienda owner with those initials.
