I had a couple of those. The first one I sold went for more than that which was fantastic! I kept the other one and am glad to see it heading higher again .
I have 2 sets, one from PCGS and the other from NCG. If this keeps up much longer I may have to let the NGC set go to pay for both and some left to play with.
Sorry, I meant is there really a physical difference in the two coins or are they exactly the same save one was put into the Anniv set and one was sold by itself.

No difference. Except one is wearing a t-shirt, the other is wearing a tux.

Every coin is different But you're right, if you crack those coins out, you won't be able tell the difference between a 20th Anniversary and a non 20th Anniversary. It's the same with many pedigreed classic coins.
For people like the history/story of a coin, the Anniversary designation may make the story richer for them, just like a pedigreed classic coin may make that coin more interesting for certain collectors.
It definitely helps to have the 1st strike label on these(if selling).... I sold one a while back at $600. Same coin as any other 2006 w silver proof... just paying for the label.
<< <i>So what is the exact same coin without the FS going for? >>
Saw some that don't end for 5 days and they are started at $250 minimum. If anyone just has to have one, there are a couple of reverse proofs DCAM 70 that are BIN for nearly $1500.
OK, this is reminding me of the Coin Vault pitches for "First Strikes" and "Early Releases" and coins like the burnished die SAE that folks are trying to use marketing to separate IDENTICAL coins but say that one is a "Black Label" or whatever, that a coin is 20th Anniv. burnished or just burnished die.
We know that it is pure marketing with the "FS" or "ER" labels too, and outrageous that anyone pays a higher price. I see that the ordinary proof '06 W SAEs as has been commented on above are selling for more than previous years on a retail basis even though there are substantially more of them available.
Love that Milled British (1830-1960) Well, just Love coins, period.

A Shiba Inu is a terrible thing to waste!
<< <i>dumb question but, what is the difference between that coin and this coin besides the 20th anniv. label and the +/- $450? >>
It's all about the pedigree/designation?

The last 3 to go off on E-Bay went $305, $237, $305 without 1st strike designation.
