that coin is a bargain at the current bid price...$55,000 for less than ten bucks. I like sellers that use red font to point out the important parts of an auction that I might not otherwise realize. And estate sales can't be beat for bargains.
A new forum member named brinkers suggested I should. He/she PMed me. I do not know much about these, so I thought I could get some help from the forum before placing my max bid of $40,000 (that's more than 20% off the retail price, you know).

Setting aside for a moment the obvious merits of this piece, and the reliable nature in which you received the "tip" from brinkers (presumably some relation to the "Brinks" security company), I note that you are "all over the place" in your recent coin buying.

I got the same PM. My only concern is; Why has a coin of that value not been encapsulated by PCGS or NGC yet? I am always hesitant to buy expensive raw coins on Ebay, even from reputable dealers. I will avoid this one.

Cool, I can buy it and make him pay me Big Bucks™ for it.
Obviously, the coin is a far cry from a problem-free MS coin. There are obvious, thick hairlines from cleaning. There are also several warning signs in the auction itself:
1. Ridiculously inflated value 2. The "@" in multiple places. 3. Multicolor font 4. 15% restocking charge 5. "I am not a professional grader so decide for yourself on the grade..." 6. "large estate sale"
I got the same PM this morning. Strange. I have never had someone come from nowhere and ask if I was interested. In any event it looks cleaned and could be fake. Im staying away.

You pretty much covered it. Just curious, what is wrong with multicolored fonts?
I got the same PM early this morning. About 0500 central time. I am thinking about asking the seller a question about if he thinks spamming people with messages will make them partial to the junk he is overhyping.

I also feel somewhat slighted that I didn't get any PM's about bargains on ebay. How do I get on that list?

Don't know, but I got left off the BiddlesBank good guys and bad guys list, so I would have really been bummed if I had been left off this one, too.

I guess I should be careful what I wish for....
RYK, your new icon really freaked me out. And which list were you eyeing?
