1916-D Mercury Dime

We talked about this coin a month or so back, and one of the forum members here almost purchased. It's back on ebay in an NCS holder, with the backwards scan and all! Didn't NGC say this was counterfeit according to whoever purchased it?

Comments

  • He says that the coin is in an NGC holder and then goes on to say that he is not a scammerimage
  • NGC doesn't net grade coins on its inserts. So it ain't NGC.

just to clarify things a bit,i'm the forum member who purchased this about a month ago, as most of you know i showed it to someone who should have known the difference, this gentlemen said it was fake, with that i did return it without any hard feelings to the owner who gave me a full refund, since then i had heard at NGC (i am a dealer there) that it is genuine and that they were going to slab it,i have heard nothing since,if i can find out any info i will post it, IMO the owner of this coin is a gentlemen and i would not hesitate to buy from him again.......... i just looked at the slab on ebay, it says NCS which is the conservation service at NGC............
  • round and around and around she goes.........
