Ebay: $456 for a 1916-P Merc Dime. 5 hours left

You can clearly see that there is no D, yet it has been bid up to $456. A total of 10 different bidders have bid. I can't even begin to wonder who these people are!!!!

Note that the E in "ONE" is also missing.
The scratch is below where the D should be.
I don't think this guy would trash his reputation over this.
Edit to add:
What we don't know is if the seller could spot an added D
but he takes Paypal and has a return policy.
Didn't look to see just what that policy is.
I don't know what this guy is doing passing this off as a rarity. Did you read all of the questions? Maybe its a hijacked account. Or maybe the guy doesn't care about feedback anymore.

<< <i>The only "D" on that reverse is in the word "DIME".

I agree!
<< <i>A closer look at the reverse.
Ahh, now I see the D. It's to the right of the fasces in front of the word ime.
It's a poor image to use to say anything.
I wish that serious sellers would abandon the scanner as any standard for numismatic imaging.
Never in a million years would I bid on that out of focus coin even if I thought there might be a "D" there simply because who knows what problems it has.
