Grades in on 73 smoothies, PCGS

Just got the grades on my bulk submission of smoothie GW coins:
2 MS 63
30 MS 64
33 MS 65
8 MS 66
I don't know if I should say 'Yippee!' or not. No PCGS MS 67 coins in the pop report so I guess I am OK with this.

They look at least OK to me. How 'bout a "YIP!" at least?
Yeah how about a YIPpee? I like all those 65s as well. After all, they cost me a buck eh?

Those MS66 are nothing to sneeze at.
What's the going rate for 63-66 nowadays?
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I looked at Ebay this morning, didn't see any 63 PCGS coins. I think 64 is around $ 200, 65 is around $300 and 66 is $550-$600 but that is just from memory. Doesn't really matter because most or all of these are going to be put away.

<< <i>That was why they got them graded for you in 4 day, because they know you are not selling them.
Could be Al. Since I have hung it all out here on the CU forum during this entire exercise, here are my submission numbers. Yeah, I accidentally included two Denver mint lettered edge coins in the submission and it is all your fault.

Out of curiousity? - How many smooths per roll did you hit?
I got 9-12 out of each of 4 rolls... and out of 41 smooths... only 6 "might" be able to get a MS64.
Only ONE coin had nothing else "wrong" with it except the smooth rim...
<< <i>Wow - very nice grades with all things considered. Musta been some very good rolls!!

I hit about 70 smooth rolls. My best rolls had 21 coins; three of those. Average about 16 per roll.
Rick:
For that aspect alone (times 73 no less!) I think you deserve another YOU SUCK!!

Hey thanks Dennis. About damned time; after all I pulled 1,142 of these suckers out of bank boxes. I was wondering when someone might award the ultimate forum award. (Evil

<< <i>No grade available So what was their grade? Sorry for the D's.
Putting the D coins in there was my fault; a hazzard of packing it up in ten minutes so I could catch a flight. Stephanie did not give me the grades on those, I expect they will be posted in a few hours.

SWEET!
Well, since it looks like you hit the "Peak" (...damn near almost entirely smooth rolls!!)
And now that it's after the fact...
Do you have any idea (ie. and will you share that info...) what inspection date those came from?

Yes I do Feb 12 CW#103. Every person who I have met who found smoothies found them in Feb. 12 boxes. Not all Feb 12 boxes have smoothies (I looked at about 40 that had none) but all smoothies I know about came from that date.
You find them yourself?
The earliest inspection date I've seen has been mid-Nov. '06 (11/14 or 11/16?)
So your date adds some validity to claims I've seen elsewhere, and explains why so many of mine had lots of die fatigue/die cracks, etc... I didn't figure that the "mistake" was really that early on in the minting process (also explains how I was able to pick up 4 error rolls at a bank on March 15th - in Florida, ta boot! And no, my bank had discarded the box and had no clue, only that they came from the 'Loomis' truck... LOL)
It would be interesting to find what the earliest date, and latest date box, a smooth edge (P) coin came from too... betcha there's a spread of random coins, or coins stuck in the sorting & rolling machine, that'll show up. I think the latest dated box I've seen was 02/15... but there 'might' have been a later date in Feb. that I came across??
Who knows... but nice to see a kind of timeline to it!

Yep sure did. started searching a couple days after the initial report found then about 2 weeks later. None in the last three weeks.
