2007 P&D Sac Dollars

I just went thru 2 rolls of each and the P mint coins were scuffed up real bad with chatter marks all over the fields and they looked dingy like they hadn't been rinsed properly. The D mint coins on the other hand were brilliant to look at with minor scuff and hit marks and the finish would put your eyes out. Makes you wonder how one facility could be so much better than the other. Of course this is a small lot to make that assumption but I've noticed it on Buffalo Nickels also.

Now to sharpen my grading skills and pick out one of each to submit.

Are the smooth edges normal or upside-down? image

My Adolph A. Weinman signature :)

  • Having looked at thousands of Bison Nickels I agree that on the whole Denver coins are of a much higher quality.
  • D has made finer coins than P for the past decade or so

We bought a bag of each for inventory, and I was surprised to see that the D-mints were much baggier than the P-mints. Luck of the draw, I guess.
