Morgan vam guys, is this anything special?

Bigdave's post about the 7/8 king vam got me to whip out my OGH 7/8 weak. It's not a 44(?), but it does have a few interesting things that don't seem to be present on my non '78 morgans.
Is this extra globule (looks almost like a talon) anything special on a 1878 7/8 tf weak, is it a diagnostic for another vam, or is it just the way the '78s were?

We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.

And from your description of Liberty's "fangs" it would seem yours is one of the die-clashed versions with heavy clashing at the lips/mouth/chin.

Here's a close-up of the "fangs". You can just see the whisp of one on her upper lip, but the ones on the lower lip and her chin are especially pronounced.
FWIW, it's a PCGS MS62 in a rattler slab.
