OT- Currency Question

I save all of the $1 star notes that I get in circulation for my grandkids. Today I received one that the paper is crisp but had been wadded up in someone's pocket. I can't remember if I read it here or not but remember the reference made about ironing currency. Can someone walk me through the process? image
