I gave a coin collecting merit badge seminar tonight

I did it for the local troop--28 kids showed up. Most of then were pretty reluctant when I first started, but as I began to give away prizes they got more and more into it. I also gave them all a whitman folder and a roll of pennies--they spent about 20 minutes on that. By the time the thing was over (tonight was part 1 of 2) I had kids jumping on the tables to answer questions (even the older scouts)! It's great to see so many kids getting interested in numismatics

You're a good man. I just volunteered to do the same thing for a local scout troop, and am looking forward to getting the call. It sounds like a rewarding experience.

Bet it made you feel great.
A job well done.
What you did, was not easy and quick.
My sincere congratulations for doing something that was not only worthwhile, but took time and effort. Beats a smiley face every day of the week. Thanks. jws
Time well spent. Exellent planning and execution. I like the way you had some prizes to spark the interest.

I'm pretty sure I have the stamp collecting one but I have no idea if I ever got the coin collecting one.
60 years into this hobby and I'm still working on my Lincoln set!
