AnkurJAnkurJ Posts: 11,370 ✭✭✭✭
A 4 year old kid, came to the pharmacy all the time, and seemed to be doing very well, and all of a sudden took a turn for the worst. Really puts things into perspective doesnt it? 4 years old.....

Sorry for the off topic post.

I'm not sure what the exact problem was, but its abbreviation was N.E.M.O.

My little four year old just turned five today. I think I will go home and give him a big hug. We almost lost him at birth, so every day is a miracle.

I just read about mesosilver (studying silver as medicine) used in a nebulizer during breathing treatments that effectively treat pneumonia.

Death is always difficult to deal with and especially with one so young.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!

Little Jack Hagelin, your life on this earth was far too short, but I bet it was sweet, tender and fulfilling.

I'm also sure you brought MUCH joy to those around you. You will be missed by all who knew and loved you.

May you rest in His arms forever, Little Jack --- you deserve no less. God bless you and your family.

    R.I.P. young man.

  • Going to the funeral of a child is the saddest thing that a person can ever do...We had the unfortunate tragedy of a drowning accident in our family in 2003, and lost 5 and 6 year old sisters...unless you have this affect your life directly, you can't imagine in your saddest comparison with anything Hollywood could ever put on screen how devistating it is...Our prayers go out to his family, and our forum members that are hurting.

You couldn't have said it better.

May him, his family, and those who knew him find peace in knowing how much God loves him and will keep him forever in the arms of angels.

I didn't have kids until I was 44. I spent many many years in a Spocklike existance were kids like this were just a nameless statistic that didn't stir anything at all inside me. So I understand those who don't understand. Once you have your own kids things change. Today I can't read anything like this now without my eyes watering. And I'm glad that now I can feel it. Thanks, Jerry

  • I have been fortunate to have never been in the sad position to attend a childs funeral; that must truly be heartbreaking.

I work in a very busy Oncology department (outpatient clinic) Roughly 30% of my patients that I get to know will probably die within the next year. These are folks who might come in 5 days a week, once a month or only twice a year. There are plenty of sad days and plenty of hopeful ones too.

I know every patient by name that comes in on a regular basis and it hurts like hell when someone you have come to know and care about gets sicker and sicker and then disappears.

Sometimes we need to vent, to grieve to express our thoughts and feelings. May your young friend rest in peace.

My deepest symapthy to the family and friends who lost this child. As an Emergency Room doc, there is nothing more upsetting to me and the staff than to lose a child, or any patient for that matter. Every elderly man "whose time has come" is someone's friend, husband, grandfather or father.

You would think that this perspective makes us wiser when it comes to understanding what is important in life, but more often the demands of the day overwhelm us.

It's a reminder to all of us what is really important in life, having lost a child I realize that ALL children are our son's and daughter's, and it is sad when one of them passes...

He's in a better place now and in a better way. His pain is over but his family's is just beginning. They'll be in our prayers.

Pediatric diseases can be unexplainably horrific, especially genetic disorders.
