Questionable Toning. Look above miss Liberty, between B and E of liberty, and take a look at the sagging toning! Or, maybe I had too much to drink tonight and it's NT MS66? bob

Very good question... and I am not sure this is a good answer.
The rim color looks okay and the color change looks okay but the extended color in the obverse fields combined with the color on the portrait really makes this a very tough call. It does look like album color but it very well could have been dipped at some point before going into an album. It really boils down to whether it is market acceptable.
corrected spelling of acceptable

I thought it would grade MS63. PCGS graded it AU58. They may very well be right. I'll take a close look at it when it gets back. In any event, it only cost me $15 so it's not much pain.

Cool...I've got a similarly toned one from one of the local shows last month. Bought as an AU. I don't like the Peace dollars much so I haven't done anything with it. I am jealous though...mine cost a bit more
Still in the 2x2 though, and it isn't a Russview, so the pics aren't the best

What if there were a rule that if a coin finally graded the grade would be reduced by 10 points for each time it had been submitted
Some of you might end up having coins graded a "Minus 5"

Make that $45 after 2 crackouts and a final ms63

How'd you only pay $15 instead of $18? Are they giving suave and handsome guys a discount these days?
I find this interesting. What logic would dictate this grade ? Would it be the contact with the hands on insertion into an album ?

You might be right. Afterall, 1925 Peace Dollars were heavily counterfeited.
