Icon Help

Can anyone get this image down to less than 10kb so I can use it next month as an icon? I need it to be 100x100 pixels and don't want to lose much quality. This 12kb image is the lowest I can get for some reason.

How about a light gray background so it mixes in with the forum background and isn't very noticeable?

Mind telling us how you guys are doing this.
My torch would not fit last month and I could not get it sized in time.
And yes the properites say it should work.

I'm not sure it can be done as a transparent gif at 100x100. He may have to settle for the 95x95 that tmot99 posted.

    You're one sneaky dog, Rich.

I didn't catch it at first, but now I am on to you. Shame on you for trying to get others interested in CBHDs by asking for 'Icon Help'. Tsk Tsk. image

Watch it turn out to be some new die variety, now. image

I thought of you at the Charlotte show, Cladiator. As it happens, I sold the Draped Bust half off my Holey Coin Vest... again.

Pretty sure this one wasn't an Overton discovery, but who knows. I think I looked it up in the book you gave me, but I can't remember what the variety was. Allan Berman bought this one- he loved the original look of it, despite the hole, and I already owed him some money for purchases, so my very first deal of the show had me walking away from a dealer's table with more money than I'd brought to it, strangely enough. I wasn't expecting that.

So I guess I need to find another... again.

Y'know, I had my picture taken at least three or four times, as usual, and had probably a dozen forum members or lurkers come up and introduce themselves, but one fella I saw remembered reading the story of "our" famous half dollar, and asked if I was the guy. I said yeah, rather sheepishly. But hey, even if I got cherrypicked worse than anyone else this century, I at least got an Overton book and a little fame out of the deal, right? image

Yours would've been OK if you had sharpened it a bit after shrinking.

To get mine down below 10K, I reduced the number of colors from 255 to 127. At 100x100, you can't really notice the loss of colors -- I think I could've gone half again without much ill effect.
