First CC dollar

All-

I finally purchsed my firat CC diollar. Its a 1890 Morgan that in VF condition. Someone had cleaned it and I was able to get the coin at a good price.

Why are CC coins at such a premium? Yes, I am aware of the history at the CC mine. It just seems odd that there are many other coins that could command a much higher premium.

Why are CC coins at such a premium?

    Morgans are popular.

Carson City is a popular mint.

Morgan dollars are the most affordable CC coins in nice looking uncirculated grades.

CC coins of other denominations are scarcer. I think some of them are underpriced.

Purely history. The CC mint invokes all the imagery of the Wild West and with a CC silver coin, you can be pretty much sure that its Comstock Lode silver in the coin. With Morgans, CC mint coins are still somewhat affordable. Go look at the prices on CC gold. image

You've got one, now. 13 more to go if you include the 1880-CC Reverse of 1878. image

CC Morgans were a true workhorse, paid debt, bought whiskey, and worked the card tables,...gotta love the possibilities...image

Yup, my 1889-CC is a VG-08. It could have been in Kit Carson's pocket, or on a table during a gunfight! CC coins are an addiction. Hehehe.

I know the history of my 1880-1885 GSA's. Way cool stuff.

ok, so among the Morgan Dollars, what is the Holy grail of CC mintages?

In short, the most sought after?

Secondly, where can a peron go and read so that I can educate myself abiout these particualr types of CC coins?

Yes, its a newby question, but this is a coin I have wanted since I started collecting next to a Fugio cent.
