Get it while it's hot!

The good news is that the seller is only charging $3.49 for shipping. Very generous indeed.

I sent him a message this morning asking if it was a typo. No response yet, but I am sure that is what it is.

    OUT OF PRINT.

    COLLECTORS ITEM NOW.

I spent a lot of time trying to find reprints. Talked to a lot of book dealers. NO GO !

On Ebay they were going for $225 several months ago. I thought that was too high so I put a $135 BIN on mine and someone zapped it right away.

    THEN I WOKE UP.

It will require a book burning party of his Encyclopedia and lots of Breen bashing to get lower prices.

The last part shouldn't be too hard given his sordid sex life and his propensity to make up facts and provide false authentications according to many.

So otherwise the morally upright will want to give up their Breen books when they find out he died in prison as a convicted pedophile.

I just bought a brand new copy for $98 about 1.5 years ago...what the heck happened since then?

They are gone - gone - gone and now all the book dealers know they are gone.

10 years ago I could have bought a hundred of them brand new delivered for $50 to $60 each.

Recently one dealer told me that Walmart would be carrying some and others told me of a reprint. I looked but no banana.

Given the now universal knowledge that Breen was a long time Pedophile and wrote on homosexuality and treaded child Pederastry as being an acceptable practice I don't think the mainline publishers are too interested in reprinting.

The problem for collectors is his attributions are still quoted for identification purposes.

Personally I felt like my Breen half cent book and my encyclopedia were a bit tainted and had no remorse selling them at a bargain price given the then existing market.

    So what's your opinion?

They've been selling for around $190.- $220. on eBay the last few weeks that I've been watching them. There is another, not so well-known, out of print, numismatist book that I've been searching for that goes for around $300. that seldom appears for sale . (Nope, I'm not saying what it is until I grab one.) image

That seller is just trolling and hoping to snag a bidiot.

Thanks for posting - I never realized that these have gone up so much in value. It doesn't seem that it was that long ago you could get these for $100 or less at any coin show.
