What would these Lincoln's grade?

The 1915 S is more than likely a BB because of the scrape or whatever it is on the wheat ears. What would the grade have been? It's been like that since I got it in 1960. (Caution Dial uppers)

The 1909 VDB I bought in 1980 as an Uncirculated (before slabs and the 0-70 grading system) for $7.50.

both bagged for enviornmental damage IMO. Post mint damage on the wheat ears, Bagged along with PVC.

Thanks Russ. It could be mint made. I've just had it since I was a teen and just always thought that it was some kind of scrape or gouge. Hope it's mint made.

The 15s looks whizzed in the southeast quadrant on the obverse.

The 09 vdb might be 66bn, nice woodgrain effect.

Mint damage was my first impression on the 15s.

Great pics. ...some sharpe edges on the 09'.

What ever it is, as I rotate the coin in different light positions, it appears it is part of the metal or under the skin so to speak.

The 15-S is definitely post mint damage. Scraping causes metal to be moved from one area to another. You can see this across the upper wheat ear where the metal is raised. You can also see where the metal was moved from the rim into the field. Planchet flaws prior to being struck wouldn't exhibit this metal movement.

It is, however, a neat coin!

I would keep the 15-S raw (beautiful coin BTW...even with the damage) and I would send in the 09 VDB to be graded. I'd say it lands in a 66RB holder. A little too much brown going on to get the RD designation. Very cool coin. For grading comparison, here is my 09 VDB...graded MS66RD. I think yours makes a 66 all day long.
