A very cool not your ordinary Morgan toner.

I've handled scads of rainbow bag toners, end rollers, target toners, album toners, and monochromes of various shades. After a while, it gets to the point where not many of them get me excited. This one did. I hadn't seen an example like this before. Very striking colors that just sparkle! Reverse is white.

    Nope, the coin really is that mottled.

    Out of curiosity, can an opinion be stated about a coin that differs from others? If not, this forum is meaningless.

    The coin was mine until last week. I bought it years ago from the late and great Toned coin dealer Charlie Boyd. That was one of my favorite Morgan toners Russ sold for me on consignment. Someone ripped that puppy way, way,way too cheap .IMHOimage

    oops, sorry.image If I would have known it was yours, I would have said, "AWSOME coin!!!"image

    Seriously though, I'm not dissing it to the point of calling it downright ugly, I just think it's a bit mottled and with so many beautifully toned Morgans out there, it's not terribly special. I'm not saying that I would mind owning it, at the right price.

    Russ, I have a few that have that look and I prefer it over the so called rainbow toning. Mottled toning seems a whole lot more natural to me. dizz to each his own but rainbowers are a dime a dozen in my view. Not that some aren't very attractive but they are way common.
