2000 Millenium Eagle

With all the interest in the 2006 W Eagle, do you think there will be renewed interest in this low mintage of 75,000 West Point Eagles sans the W mintmark?? Will the absence of the mint mark bring more attention?

imagine if it had the mint mark.
i wonder if collectors will ever reach for this one
<< <i>Another case of buying the plastic. It really isn't a low mintage since EVERY 2000 business strike silver eagle is a 2000 (W). >>
thanks for pointing it out, I should have checked the Redbook first
<< <i>only 75k minted eagles, but indistinguishable from the regular issue due to no mint mark.

They parallel "First Strike" coins in this regard. "First Strikes" are indistinguishable from regular issues, yet still command premiums in the market. Go figure...

So in essence of what you are saying is that the "Millenium Eagles" ..Are.. of First Strike™ quality..???

They should IMO. When they first came out the talk on the board was that they were made at Westpoint and the others were not. I've alway considered that special as long as they were in a sealed C&C set. I figured PCGS would label them as such someday and those that kept tight would win. I saw a C&C Buff do stupid money also. Are they really special? Only for a C&C collector or a 'complete set' collector I guess.
I have over 25 mint sealed sets that I bought from the mint in 2000 and another 30 unsealed sets that I picked up here and there.
Can I get first strike on the mint sealed sets?
(not talking about the grade alone...that is its own merit...just talking about the insert)
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

The only different between "millennium" 2000 SAEs and regular 2000 SAEs is packaging. The coins themselves are identical. I don't see why one should be worth more than the other, yet I am rather glad that I have one of the "millennium" coins, given the run up in prices. I certainly didn't pay $400+ for it.
