What is the most you ever paid for a raw non-bullion coin?
The most I ever paid was $390 for an 1882 Morgan that the dealer had marked as an MS-65.

Most of them arent his.
a 1913-s barber quarter in PCGS G-4
a 1913-s barber quarter in NGC G-4
both from JJ teaparty during that time they had a bunch listed on the website. One I cherrypicked from the ones available and asked if I could have $50 off when I ordered and they agreed, the other they happened to list on ebay and was superior to most of the G-4 specimens I ran across so I nabbed it up. Impulse buy really. If I crossed the NGC one over to PCGS it would probably grade G-6. I'm no millionaire so these are the two most expensive coins I own. I don't really buy for set assembly, I buy coins I like that I think are undervalued. I'm more into type collecting. I like to have nice circulated specimens from all kinds of series.
But they sell and I accumulate
Check out some of my 1794 Large Cents on www.coingallery.org
sold the roll for $600
$950 for an 1801 cent that I haven't even seen yet
$900 for another 1793 cent
$700 for an 1800 cent
Several more large cents and Conder tokens in the $300 to $600 range.
$600 for a 1951 proof set
Bought a 1921 PDS raw set of Walkers
a few years ago - all AU 55-58 - for $12.5K
I calculated the 21-S to be valued at $6,750.
They're still raw and in my Dansco album.

New Barber Purchases
The most that I have spent on a raw non-bullion was $75. It was for a mostly original VF35 1825 CBH.

I believe my 10-year-daughter doesn't know what a TPG is and I hope she never feels the need to learn.
