Is it worth searching rolls for Wisconsin extra leafs?
I see quite a few rolls on ebay of 2004 D Wisconsin quarters. Is it worth the try? Are rolls from Tuscon and San Antonio the only ones with extra leafs?
One guy is selling two rolls for $120.00 the rolls are suppose to be from Flagstaff?
Well what do you guys think?

I think I would pass. They all seem to pass through AZ or San Antonio.

In regards to buying unsearched, unopened rolls of WI D Quarters at this late date, I would buy them on the basis that you are "Not" going to find any Extra Leaf Quarters. It would be like a fun trip to Las Vegas !! If you want to gamble and you might like to find other errors such as: The Sunken Die WI D Quarter or a off-center coin, then buy the rolls for only a few dollars over face and enjoy the fun but don't get your hopes up. When all is said and done, buying a graded Wisconsin Extra Leaf Quarter fron a reptuable deal such as Rick or Rob or Brent in Tuscon, AZ makes the most sense to me.
Have a great day collecting coins. Mark Smith.
I lived in San Antonio until 2003. Now Iam in Wisconsin and missed the extra leaf when they were discovered.
<< <i>Thanks Mark for the in depth report on extra leafs in Texas.

That's ironic.
Professionally graded and slabbed coins are your best bet whether NGC or PCGS ... you'll pay a premium but from what I saw and heard in recent news .. these
varieties sound like they were intentionally designed as an added engraved or tapped element into pre-hardned dies from a Denver mint employee/worker. These
just might double or triple in price within a year or two! According to a fellow who followed the TCG populations reports and price guides ... hands down these are the
highest prized / priced statehood quarter of all them as of today.
He also stated that in fact "these two special" varieties of the WI's will most likely be the key prize to all the statehood quarters and we have not seen such an variety
quarter dollar from the US Mint in over 130 years! .. with 1877S/ horizontal S as far as unusal design elements shown on a quarter dollar. He did state that you
could also include the 1918/17S but that is something that is not as unusal because it has also happen before with many other denominations of us mint coinage.
If this fellow is off the mark in anyway .. then I would be happy to hear anyones input on this.
