    Genuinely gorgeous. . .

    Grade is 65, no FS with the gash (but decent steps). I am not that quick to doubt the toning on warnicks as some of the most exquisite toners in the series come from those years, but I wonder about the shadowing (chemical pooling?) around the chin, collar, "Y" in Liberty, and IGWT.

    Conceivable . . .and certainly a nickel I would buy. I'd even send it in . . . but wouldn't flip out if it BB'd for color.

    Doesn't matter . . . it's gorgeous.

    Just an opinion . . . .hope it's a keeper for you . .

    Pretty, but I would lean towards the AT side. But what do I know about toned raw nicks?

    I think it's cool, and possibly a 66- but I would naturally be a little suspicious of the color... image

    Don't know much about War Nickels but that toning looks suspicious to me. Even if it's
    AT I like it.

    in my experience Jefferson Nickels just don't tone like that. while the reverse is somewhat appealing i don't see anything about the obverse color that i'd call pretty. given that personal opinion, i'd grade the surface quality as average MS65 and move on.

    Nice color -- such always makes me nervous these days with all the obvious AT stuff getting into plastic.

    I think 67 is a bit much considering Freddy Krueger slashed the steps. That's a prime focal area for Jeffs, and I'd expect a big hit in such area to preclude a 67 grade. But that's just me, I guess.

    not a Jeff expert, but just my 2 cents.

    Still a beauty and dandy of a coin, whatever the grade an AT/NT controversy.

    It does look like an Applachian hoard nickel. I think they are beautiful works of art!

    From what I understand they were all graded at around the same time. Most all got stars. It seemed to me, based on viewing many of them, that the star wasn't good enough for NGC who must have been very impressed with the toning and gave them an additional bump in grade.

    I too don't think the coin's grade deserved a 67 and the color to be suspect.
