Another St. Paul MN Show Report ...

As you recall last week's show in the St. Paul area was a bit exciting Yelling ... Police ... More Yelling, but not for the right reasons.
My local coin club held a show today, and the focus was on coins ... The day started out with a bit of snow on the roads, but many people still turned out
There was active trade of the bullion, state quarters, and collector coins. I had collectors looking for red 1909 Lincoln cents, 1909 VDBs, high grade circulated key and semi-key Lincolns, AU $5 Indians, proof sets, mint sets, circulated, high grade Standing Liberrty Quarters, Morgans (does anyone buy Peace $s, save for the circ/bullion versions
), Modern Comms ... The snow picked up later in the afternoon which made leaving the show a bit difficult.
We have another show tomorrow, with a new location. Since the snow cotinues to falli, we'll have to wait and see if the focus of the show is coins or weather.

i haven't bought a peace at a local twin cities show in a couple years now.
Craig
I'm interested in hearing what attendance was like for the Sunday show- both by buyers and dealers. Hopefully it turns out to be a good show for everyone.
The roads last night between 3AM and 5AM were absolutely disastrous. All side streets had about 8 inches of snow, 494 and Cedar were passable at about 35mph, but 35E was like an ox-cart road during the spring thaw- not plowed at all with one "lane" of ruts. Since it was a weekend storm, MnDOT probably decided to wait 'til morning to get most of the plows on the road. The roads are probably pretty decent by now, and the Wild seem to have a full crowd at the Excel Center.
Only a few weeks 'til "the Big One"!
Between the weather and trying to find the location of the show (MapQuest did not come through on this one
The first and sole customer during the first hour of the show came in at about 9:15. The goods news was that the dealers where able to enjoy a leisurely brunch
The show was held at a new location. This by far the nicest show facilities for the current Twin Cities shows. In fact it is the nicest small show location I've been at
Foo looked bored today, at least while I popped in.
I was a bit tired. I got up extra early to make it to the show on time. As mentioned I still ended up getting to the show later than planed.
Oh, what sold at this show ... proof and mint sets from the early sixties, MS Morgans, MS Lincolns, MS silver Wash quarters, requests for moderns, which I typically don't carry, proof Frankilns, early proof Kennedys (Russ missed out on these gems
The FooDude will be at the Madisioon show next weekend. Anyone wnat a report from that show?
thank you for the weather/coin show report !
Mike, I'm working for you
Thanks for the report!
Do you mean the Northwest Show (3/16-18), or another storm, or both
We could very well have a few more "big ones" before "The Big One". But Paul Douglas will be here to 4Warn us. This is the time of the year winter gets really old.

Where was Saturday's show? I completely missed that one.
I had every intention of hitting the show Sunday in Anoka, but I spent an hour and a half driving through the cr@p between Ramsey and Minneapolis at about 3am Sunday morning. I saw many, many folks in the ditches along with a couple snow plows to boot. I'm not even sure how I made it home. I just didn't feel like driving back to Anoka a few hours later after driving through all that earlier. I'll have to catch the next one.
