I can imagine the scene. Director of the mint with a new paper article. Ops, what's happening here? How did these get out without edge letterring?
We'll ma'am, the machine spits 1.37% of the coins onto the floor. To review each will mean over 4 million coins reviewed at 4 seconds each, costing 1/4 million man hours. We can't afford this. We need to shovel them up and throw them in the pre or post edge letter hopper.
Well unlettered ones are getting out. Throw them in the pre-hopper.
