  So far? How much of the collection have you sold....100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, 10%, etc...? Anyway you cut it, sure looks like you did ok to me.

  i would say 67% of it is gone. Alot of foreign left so that stuff is hit or miss

  That profit margin was VERY steep. The dealer I work for would do about a 10% profit margin on a collection this size and I think that is fair. Buying a collection and tripling your money, especially when the value is in the thousands is extremely excessive. You should have paid the seller A LOT more for the collection.

  ok i might buy that, but how much was the collection worth a year ago. If you were to flip it all the day you got it, how much would you have made on it?

  I think part of the key to it is that he said it was a lot of FOREIGN items.
  I wouldn't have an idea of what it is worth...and if I bought a collection that was mixed, I would really not value the foreign stuff much at all...and would say to keep it to the seller or it would be worth very little.
  
  I have 4 pages (4x5 of the 2" holders) of foreign stuff sitting here that I need to image, and try to sell, for a friend at work. I have NO idea of what it is worth, nor does he. He would give it to me if I asked. If it sold for $5, I would give that to him. If it sold for $5000, I would give that to him. The point is, sometimes some of us really don't know what some coins are worth if it isn't in our area....

  I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
