What do you think of this low grade seated dime?

Rarer than an 1894 S dime , just not worth as much

I seldom check PM's but do check emails often jason@seated.org

<< <i>Looks like a high priced hole filler >>
Heh.
That's a great find! It looks like the obverse die permanently failed right after striking the coin. Wow.

I'm aware of at least two other examples. The AU55 Ahwash Plate Coin and one in an east coin collection.
Indeed much rarer than an 1874-CC dime......for a lot less money.
The die cracked and the whole press broke down.
The coin flipped outside and was walked on by horses for many years.
The bum that found it did't feel so lucky either.
<< <i>Holy crap! A shattered obverse 1839 dime. That is a holy grail of variety collecting. You cherrypicked it?[/q
traded lots and lots of Roosevelts dimes (tens of thousands)
