Stereo Coin Images - Useful?

Here's a true stereo image I took to see if this type of image would be useful for conveying a coin's attributes. Please take a look and tell me what you think. Sorry, the images are a little unfocused. You need to "unconverge" your eyes to properly view the images. Your right eye should look at the right image, and your left eye at the left image. This is the same thing you have to do when viewing those Magic Eye image books.
The first problem I see is that the images can't be very large. The center of the two images need to be approximately the same distance apart as your eyes. The closer they are together, the easier it is to focus on them. If they are farther apart than your eyes, you're SOL since it's difficult to make your eyes diverge.
