Could someone point me in the right direction?

Hello, Lightsiders!

I am in search of a numismatic literature and having a hell of a time locating a copy. Since it is somewhat related to U.S. (or perhaps since there are some large-scale dealers here that might have good numis. lit. sources), I thought that I might get a hand on these boards.

I am looking for either the original (1845), or a re-print of J.L.Riddell's "A Monograph of the Silver Dollar Good and Bad". In 1838 J.L.Riddell was appointed melter and refiner for the New Orleans Mint and he continued in that position until 1849. That Monograph is a good reference for any contemporary counterfeit collector dealing in Mexican coinage of that era.

Thank you in advance,

~Roman

    Thanks image

There's apparently a copy in a library in NH, but that's it so far. I wonder if they would allow me to obtain scans...

  • Lots of places have it, but in Canada I think you are limited to Simon Frasier or Univ. of Alberta. They have print copies.

I see that the University of Chicago and some other American libraries have it on microform, so if you are affiliated with a University library in your area and are willing to pay a place like U of C's high interlibrary loan/research fees, it shouldn't be a problem to have photocopies made...
