What grade would you give this toned Buffalo nickel?

Got this raw 1935 toner at a shop today along with a couple other colorful Buffalo nickels. Take a shot at it's grade before I send it in.

Minimum 65..........the tinong adds to the grade.

Just a little soft center Obverse.

    ...........I'll say 66

    Based on the picture? MS70
Based on experience and if we had a close up to see detail? probably MS65/66
  • Gorgeous coin! I'll have to agree with 66. What are the two green flecks I'm seeing on the top feather on one of my monitors? You can't beat it for toning. Nice!

The small dark areas that may appear to be green on your monitor are deep indentations in the design. I had to take a look at the coin again to be sure...whew image

  • That's what I suspected, a couple small darkened recessed areas. Just wanted to mention it first, before someone claimed pvc.

    no brainer 66. Very nice!

Exceptionally crisp strike. The metal was really pushed into the dies, the surfaces on the obverse have a really neat texture.
The toning is a big plus, as I don't think the luster is quite as brilliant as many 1935s. It's MS65 or MS66, but a real keeper regardless.

Nice Strike MS66 - While its beautiful the color would scare me a little trying to slab.
  • Beautiful toned buffalo! I give it a 65 because PCGS wants to see booming luster on its 66s.

I'd take a whole set of these, though.
