Took the plunge

Now that I am moved and settled in to my new home after about 2 years being extremely busy (moving twice, getting married) I have joined the PCGS Platinum club for the first time. I am now able to actually get back into collecting with more fervor. I am not rich, or so my wife tells me, so I buy what I can when I can.
I will say I am looking forward to the 8 free submissions. I don't have uber stuff but I do have a couple items I know for sure I will be sending in. One is an 1884 CC Morgan GSA that I am sure will go 64 but hoping 65. I was dumb many years ago and sent a single 1883 in to PCGS but I cracked it out of the GSA holder before I sent it in so it is not designated GSA (I was a real newb then).
Good idea to send the gsa cc in for them or should i use that other service that grades it in the slab??
Will PCGS do anything about a nickel I bought from ebay? Pic was aweful, seller did not tell in auction, but it has a nice fat partial fingerprint across the obverse.
Any advice on my 7 remaining free submissions? I have a nice modern $5 gold eagle (at work now, but it think its a 99. I have examined this baby a few times, if it does not go 68-69 for sure, i would be shocked, im a newb, and maybe I am way off, but it is so clean i am hoping for a 70. But I doubt it. Should I send that in?
Im so excited, this hobby is so fun.

Use the 8 submissions on a variety of things. These two sound like good candidates. It's a learning experience. You may get a body bag or two, but that's OK too. Most of us learned by doing.
Have fun, and Welcome!

Bodybag is still full price. Whatever service you use, you pay the fee, no refund no matter the grade/non grade.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Leave it in the GSA holder and send it to NGC. It's more desirable that way. I'm really surprised that PCGS doesn't offer the same service NGC does for the GSA holders.
ON YOUR $5 GOLD, THE ODDS OF YOU GETTING A 70 FROM PCGS IS A LONG SHOT. YOU MAY
WANT TO SHOW THAT ONE TO A DEALER BEFORE SUBMITTING. THEY GIVE OUT VERY FEW 70'S.
WHATEVER YOU DECIDE TO SEND IN, ALWAYS SEE WHAT YOUR RISK/REWARD RATIO IS.
SOME COINS ARE BEST LEFT AS IS.
GOOD LUCK

<< <i>I have heard of body bag. If I send it a cleaned or otherwise ungradable coin, and they send it back, do I get credit or am I just outta luck and lose that submission? >>
Sorry, no credit due to BB...
...but you can learn from it!
