This gentleman has done well with his GEM bu pcgs....

This gentleman has done well with his GEM bu pcgs Presidential Dollars.
He has sold over 120 so far at $14.95 each. First one out of the box with them, I wish I could have had these in time to submit them. Bummer.

  • Not to mention he's charging $6.95 on shipping. How much does the pcgs submission cost?

for gem bu the bulk rate was $6

So he has about $8 wrapped up into each coin with shipping.

Maybe $10 total with all fees ebay, paypal and all considered.

A tidy lil profit, and all of the other coins that will be better than gem bu will be pure profit.

  • I wonder how many he sent in to assure 200 for this sale.
  • That's a lot of work for just $800 profit. Kudos to him for being first out of the box though.

I'm tempted to do it just for the slab image

That said, I will try to wait until I can get them for less....his shipping kills it.

Still think the slab is cool....for kids...and that is what I would want it for.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • Making a decent profit. and he is def. making money on the shipping image
  • I kind of like the slab too. Did I just say that?

    Spam alert.

Here is my one post spamming these coins. I have them on the BST board offering free shipping to forum members.

    End Spam.

I guess he can cancel his pre-sales if he does not have enough.image

He's got to be figuring some repeat business from his customers into the equation as well.

His auction is a cut and paste from the PCGS announcement. Did PCGS announce it elsewhere or did he get it off of Coinking's post?

    Mr Magoo, are you here?

I'm going to hang onto mine. Lots more will be submitted for all the remaining dollars as people will be more prepared. If pcgs continues this first day release thing...and people start a collection..they are going to be paying dearly for the rare washington version to finish their set....and I'll be sitting on a pile of them. image

I agree to a certain extent but I think the Washington First Day of Issue BU coins could be pretty common.

In my opinion the coins to hold will be the ones graded PCGS MS-65 and higher. I looked through alot of Denver mint Washington Dollars, Gem examples of these coins in First Day of Issue Plastic will be scarce.

I'm curious as to how many coins you guys think were be submitted for First Day of Issue.

Everyone who submitted had to send in at least 100 coins, and it seems like alot of people sent in more(me included).

I have heard that around 30,000 were submitted in total.

I got some dollars I ordered from the mint today. They do indeed say they were shipped on the 15th. I'm going to sit on em and see how these slabs do.

I presaled 25 of mine. 16.99 plus 3.00 shipping. I sold 17 in one hr.

I agree the 6.95 turns off many people.

    Steve

    I sent in 100
    Good for you.
