This is another one of the cleaned coins I got because I thought they where VAMs. 
I didnot know I was a VAM collector until i came to this sit. I always went for the errors odd looking coins "what I called them before"
This one has been harshly cleaned but it has to over polish on the nose and clash points on the chin and lips they don't show in the pic.
OK now its time to ask is there any way to remove or tone down those harsh cleaning lines. It will always be a clean coin, but I would like to get some of it removed.

Some people do the pocket piece or rock tumbler things. I never could bring myself to do that. In any event, I cannot see that cleaning going away without a lot of wear, beond what is reasonable.
As for which VAM, we'd need to see the reverse and probably more details to figure it out. Looks like hte nostril is missing, which reduces the possibilities a bit to start.

What are you seeing, John? I am looking at the long nock, doubled eagle leg. I see a 33, no triple on the cotton bolls from the pictures.

Never mind. You don't. It's a VAM 33. Doubled star left of the E on the obverse had me thinking 123 for a moment, but the ear isn't right.

I was just going by the obverse and the doubled star and the R in the motto caught my eye. The reverse hadn't been posted yet.
