Did I get a good deal on this 1972 Type 2 IKE?

I picked up this 1972 type 2 Ike today. The dealer had it marked as a type 2 so I wasn't able to cherrypick it. I had to shell out $50 for it.

That's a Type 2 Ike!

A PCGS MS64 can bring over $500...a 65 will get you over $3K....So, yeah you did REAL GOOD!

How can you tell based on the pic. It's on the reverse right? on the earth/ continents?

looks like a nice MS64-65 Type 2 to me but not the Accented Hair variety, so the confusion is understandable!!

that's a good picture for showing the diagnostic but, unfortunately, also a good poicture for showing the surface degradation. the camera doesn't miss much.

Keets isn't far off on the "Accented Hair" thing....Half of these come with a clashed die "Talon Head" mark
in the temple area of Ike. This is best seen with the naked eye by pointing Ike's nose straight up to 12 O'Clock
and tilting the coin towards and away from you.

sometimes when viewing online pictures the craters on the Moon can help in seperating the three varieties of 1972 MS Ikes, also, but the Islands off Florida are usually clear enough.

Did I get a good deal on this 1972 Type 2 IKE?
