I'm just guessing since I can't see the coin in hand but sometimes high dollar coins with heavy hits have some minor whizzing or other attempts to make the heavy hits less noticeable. This can be subtle but look for unusual breaks in the luster as a sign.

this photo was before i cracked it out but i really don`t think it was whizzed or anything, its got lots of hits and bagmarks and figured it would go AU58/MS62. i`ll get it slabbed eventually

it's got some digs. don't waste your money resubmitting it. it's a nice coin though, but from
my limited experience save your cash.

i don`t know if those hits caused it to BB, i would assume altered surface means cleaned.

How did you come to this conclusion?

I would like to see a better explaination for a bb than "altered surfaces"

I think what you are seeing is a very nice whiz job. The wear on the coin and the luster do not match. There is a give away around some of the lettering. This was done very well, and I am impressed.

got it back today, some close-ups posted. does it look messed with? i just thought whizzing would have lines going in the same direction. "altered surface" is vague. your thoughts?
