PCGS Price Grades

On the PCGS price guide, the prices for graded gold eagles begin at the MS65 level. Has anyone even seen a modern coin at this grade level? They even have arrows for price fluctuations. How can they possibly assign prices to what I believe are non-existent pieces?

    They have a price of $10,500 for the 1964 MS68 Kennedy that doesn't exist. It's magic.

    MS65 was a quite common grade for old ANACS moderns. PCGS always overgrades those.

    The price guide can be a source of consternation for anyone attempting to take it seriously.
