New 68-D Ken Picture

I finally got a Pic of my PQ MS 66 68-D Ken half. Do you think it has what it takes for 67? Its close.

    Nope, sorry. I think it looks good for a MS64. Being that I am such a nice guy, I will give you MS65 money for it though image


    (j/k of course.....that is a nice looking little ugly guy coin!)

    I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    MS65 Money, what is that $15? Man tough crowd. Bochi - Go check out the new pics of my 68 set.

    I have a 1968 D in a PCGS MS66 holder. I dont think mine looks as good as yours. My MS66 has a noticeable ding in front of Kennedy's nose in the field. On that alone I would say there is an outside shot. PCGS is real tough on these high end Kennedys becasue of the huge price increase between a MS66 and a MS67 coin. You are talking an $80 coin jumping to a $2,700 coin. You may have a chance, but the odds are against you big time. I hit a 1966 in MS67, so I know it can be done. Nice Coin though.

    Ahh so your the one that got that coin. I contacted Richard too late. I already have a 67 but I thought I could compare and maybe upgrade. here is my 67 for comparison

    Nice looking bunch. I see nothing in the first photo that would make me mad if I bought it as 67. Clean fields, cheek, neck, and shield. Nice looking coin.

    Beautiful coin. Virtually unimprovable.

    The luster is simply superb and the reverse is nearly perfect. The shield is
    very clean which is most surprising.

    I believe it's among the finest but could get a 66 if the grader fixates on the
    rub on cheek and neck. This isn't especially distracting to me and is some-
    times overlooked.

    I think it's got a very good shot at MS-67 and an outside shot at 68.

    It looks like a very very strong 66 that Co easily go 67 in my book. Send it in and keep us posted.

    If this were a 2006 coin, I would agree, very good chance at 68, but its not. I was graded already as MS66, and I like it better than my MS67, it does not have the strike weakness on the cheek that so many of these have, including my 67, but it has a couple of ticks that my 67 does not have. Its a prettier coin in hand. Since it is a gimme 66, I have thought about cracking it and putting it in a old Wayte Ramond book for a few years and see what it does. A nice rainbow would really be stellar with the luster image

    I always took this marking as metal being tranferred and sloughed off when rubbed against another coin. It does seem to always be on the high points and form a plane.

    It could be weakness of strike but this usually appears as lack of detail and planchet scratches.

    Nice quality on that ms66...it is tough to see them without marks and a decent strike.......
