2006 ASE MS70?

With the big dollars being realized for the 2006 PR70 Rev Proof Eagle, what will the 1st MS70 Eagle realize if one is made? I think this is one of the factors for these sets commanding such a high premium. Your thoughts?

it's not that there are no MS70 quality coins but PCGS has decided to call them all 69 because of FOMS (Fear of Milk Spots). Until pcgs is convinced the mint has the milk spot issue under control, there won't be one.
  • Agree. For ASE, there are no such thing as PCGS MS70, the higher grade is MS69. However, for commerative dollars such as San Francisco Old Mint, etc., you can actually find quite a few PCGS MS70. Now we can find quite a few NGC MS70 ASE out there I I believe they are equivalent to PCGS MS69. Another interesting phenomenon is that there are actually PCGS MS69 First Strike ASE out there and they are fetching very high prices on ebay. Same is true for NCG MS69 black label or blue label ASE and I have no idea why the color of the label have anything to do with the ASE. May be some experts can interject some light into this grading labels stuff. The very funny thing is that you always see one ebay dealer seems to have all the First Strikes of a single year's ASE for sales.

There have been 12 MS-70 SAEs. I would love to see if any of them have spots.
