I finally got DesertRat out for the day
Danny finally caved in and called me for a get together. You folks need to pester him about his finds today.
I love stirring the pot.
Danny let's do it again

Here is my take for the day (minus all the trash I dug and one quarter that managed to jump out of my pouch somehow).
All in all it was $1.20 in modern jumk ($0.95 if you take out the disappearing quarter) a Hot Wheels car and a 1928 necklace. No, it isn't circa 1928 (
So this will be my entry into the jewelry category this month.
Thanks again Gary, next time we'll have to hit those parks we talked about!

Can't have been in (or on) the ground long. Was it on or near the surface, or did you have to work for it?
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
<< <i>Wow. Who cares if it ain't antique or studded with high-dollar gemstones? That necklace is gorgeous!

We hit a private RV park and the necklace was just under the surface in the tent camping area. I literally used the side of my knife to scrape away what little dirt there was covering it.
That's a nice necklace!
Bent fork and desert rat out detecting.... the image that puts in my head is most amusing
I assume bent fork did the digging..
When we moved further away (1/4 mile?) from the lines my machine reverted to its normal self and we both began to find stuff.
Anyone else ever have significant problems in the area of power lines?
