    There appears to be raised metal under Ms Liberty's eye. Are you sure it's authentic? I've never seen a real business strike quarter eagle that is so mark free.

    It's not raised metal and, though I am not a gold specialist, I think this coin is authentic. I'll let you if it grades and how it grades.

    I would be surprised if that coin only grades MS63. Looks Gem all day long.

    From the photos it looks MS65, easy !! Unless we're missing something. Let us know. Beautiful.

    It is very difficult to tell from your picture, but the dentils look strangely weak in spots, as does the date and LIBERTY; the texture and color looks an awful lot like a few high-end counterfeits that I have seen in the past. Can you post higher res images?

    Very pretty goldie, but Laura has a point. She wondered why such a valuable coin was not already encapsulated. I hope I am wrong, but this time I think with Laura.

    Are there different varieties in this year? The "18" in Regulated's picture and your picture look completely different. I need to check my Garrett Gold Encyclopedia.

    Now that we have high resolution pics, it does look authentic. Nice coin. Probably a 64 or 65 depending on the quality of the luster.

    I just don't have what it takes to buy uncertified, high-grade, obsolete gold. I admire those that do! Good luck and let us know what PCGS says. It sure looks like a beaut.image

    Barring the identification of repeating bagmarks, which if found would indicate a fake, I don't see how anyone can authenticate or condemn this coin based on the images.
