    Does not look genuine to me.
    PNG member, numismatic dealer since 1965. Operates a retail store, also has exhibited at over 1000 shows.
    I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

    Besides having the wrong overall "fabric", you can see tooling marks in the enlargements.

    If I were going to go through the trouble of counterfeiting a coin, I would at least choose a better date.

    Coin weight is 16.7 grams. While I am suspect, I spend the money to send it in and find out. Good education as a minimum.

    The weight is about right. I once had a $10.00 Indian that when I had sent it in to be graded was gold but counterfeit. I bought it from a dealer and luckily he took it back.

    This coin is almost certainly the correct amount of gold, as are most counterfeits.

    That is about as obvious a fake as you will see. Without looking at the closeups, you can tell by the weak definition (so-called flabbiness) all over the coin - most easily noticeable at the top of the coronet.
