Standing Liberty Quarters

I just finished my Silver Eagle set, the Canadian Maple leaf set, and the Mexican Libertad set. I needed to do these quick and easy series before I tackled another numismatic nightmare. I figure I will do peace dollars, walking liberties, or standing liberty quarters. I *really* love the standing liberty design, but I am blown away by the prices. I can't believe how much they've gone up since I last looked.

Any thoughts on why they are so expensive, and if you think they'll stay elevated? Not sure if I would be better off doing the dollars since they're less expensive and bigger. What a reason, huh?

It would help if you would tell us the grade range you were looking to buy.

You will be happier with either the walkers or the std. lib. qrt.

I thought the prices on the quarters were kind of flat, but than what do I know.
there are over priced stoppers in both of those series. (like the 1916 qrtr. you can get one of these any time you want to pony up the cash).

I'm looking for MS60 or better, raw preferred (otherwise I will bust them out of the holder)

In the series you mentioned I think ms 63 would be a beter choice. ms 60's are realy dogs.

Edit to add: laced with a few au 58's

I collected SLQ's pretty heavily about a year ago. I found it most satisfying to go for solid AU coins, since they are not too ridiculously priced (except for some of the earlier ones) and still look very good.

Nice! Full head? I'd be happy with full shield! Or even a faint hint that there even was a shield! Compared to what I've been seeing on ebay... yikes. Seems as though I can get worn discs that appear to have at one time been a standing lib for about $4, but anything remotely resembling a coin and they skyrocket.
