Is this a soft price on a PCGS 1974-P MS66 Ike?

Ike auction

I thought they trended in the $900 - $1000 range? Or has the market on top pop Ike's softened that much recently?

i thought the grading was much tighter on the ikes since it wasnt much or a circulater
so many better examples probably exist.
that 66 looks like a 64 to me but, i,m not a pcgs grader obviously.

the `82 d quarter however does appear to be a 66 and may,,,may have potential for a 7, or 8 someday
as its a date coin with no usmint sets being made except for the denver mint soveigner sets.

Hi Mitch...

As has been pointed out to me on a number of occasions here... The REAL coin people do not use ebay as a guage for determining the softness of the market. I do not know why. But if we use ebay as a guage then YES, the market is very soft for most issues, not just Ikes.

I thought it looked pretty nice and would probably have gotten into the $900-$1,000 range if it
had ended on a different day....like maybe a Sunday night.

Hi Brian, That's what I thought too. $760 for PCGS 74-P MS66 was a great buy for whoever got it.

though the picture isn't the best, if you've ever seen listings by this seller you'd know what to expect and how to judge their images. this one actually shows a coin which looks every bit the 66 it's holdered at.

The softness of ebay

As I mentioned in my first thread, it isn't just one series.
This auction linked is an indication of Sacagawea's softness, too. It ended this morning with 7 different bidders bidding ten times....and brings to mind a comment I read in another thread this morning at how some people see auctions start at a penny and do not bid because they are such a waste

. No wonder my schedule C looks so dismal.

I paid $35 for the roll, plus shipping from the mint.
Twenty dollars for getting one graded...

Started at a penny with no reserve. Lest we ignore all associated fees for listing.

Yeah, it's a soft market , Mitch.
