Opinions on 1909 VDB Lincoln

Hi all, please take a moment and grade this 1909 VDB Lincoln, a personal favorite of mine. I'd like to get everyone's opinion and then I'll let you know what grade it got. Thanks, Mike

Ok guys, thanks for all the good input. It is truly a great resource we have with here with so many astute collectors. This coin graded PCGS MS65RD. It is so attractive in person (easily the best looking 65RD I have ever seen, better eye appeal than some 66RD's I've owned) that I decided to submit it for regrade as part of my annual re-up. Unfortunately, it remained an MS65RD. I can say that the chatter in the left field isn't as noticeable to the naked eye as it is in the blown up picture, the spots on the reverse letters aren't carbon, they are actually kind of cool purple/blue spots that don't appear raised off the surface like some spotting does. I was perplexed as to why this was only an MS65RD with all it's fantastic eye appeal but I think one poster may have hit on it. The "V.D.B" on the reverse is somewhat weakly struck...perhaps that is what keeps it at a 65. At any rate, it is a wonderful coin with incredible colors and virtually zero marks outside of the chatter on the left obverse. I will be holding on to this one for many years.

Im not a Lincoln expret at all, but id guess MS66RD. The coin is very clean besides the chatter to the left of Abe's head. I am not educated enough to know how much that will affect the coin's grade. Very nice coin though. I have been in the market for a nice example like that.

64RED. I don't like the marks in the obverse field or the small spots on the reverse lettering.

image Too bad, as without that stuff in the obverse field it would be a 65 easy.

66 red the only reason it would be lower IMO is because nice ones are very common. That is a sweet coin!

Appears to be at least 64RD to me. The spots on the reverse are not serious and would not necessarily exclude this coin from being called a "gem" IMO. All periods prominent? Can't really tell from image but if periods are prominent I'd call this one at least 65.

I'd have to go MS-65 Red but it has a shot at 66 because the rest of the coin is so clean and attractive. I'd be curious see how that chatter on the left obverse looked in hand and if it was as obtrusive as the blown up photo. My grade- MS-6566 slider coin.
