well there is $200 leeway there in case you don't realize those prices, and you can use the BST board. The fact is, on paper, its profitable. "In theory, there is no difference between practice and theory; in practice, there is."
Ok, I did a little experiment, I sold two sets, 8 coins seperately, and I came out negative $5.81 dollars after all fees.
So, I can said that there is no profit in these sets (or if it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all) for now anyways.

Can you provide details....I would have expected a small to moderate profit even with 7% for e-bay and PayPal. I would also expect the price to improve after the sell out of the 4 coin sets.

Sounds like your case is more the exception and not the rule. Overall... these have been selling at a decent profit % on Ebay. Maybe you should put a reserve on your auctions or do a buy it now only auction at a set price.
I guess I am about even, please don't hang me but I must have over charged my buyers for shipping by a $1.00 on each coin.
Even if the #'s a little better, it is not worth it, I just did this to backup what I said before. >>
you probably shouldn't have sold them while they were still available at the mint. There are no guaranteed profits in the bullion game. And this is a game. The smart players are winning BIG! You have to know when to sell to maximize your profit. You obviously pulled the trigger too early.
Lets face it. there are decent profits to be made with the mints latest bullion offerings. But.... it takes diligence and awareness to to maximize returns. If you just go blindly into purchasing and flipping without paying attention, you end up with no profit and maybe a loss. As you clearly demonstrated for us. Perhaps the bullion game isn't for you.
It might be better for you to stick with collecting classic coins. they have a history, the challenge is there when hunting them down and there is no hope of quick profits, so you know what you are getting into up front. You can do it for pure enjoyment. And.... you don't have to worry about the stigma from dealing with modern crap.
By the way I collect classic gold for enjoyment, I collect platinum proofs for their beauty and possible future gains and I flip the mints latest bullion offerings to fund both of the previously mentioned passions.

I'm seeing an early groundswell on eBay auctions already.
You are correct GAT, most everyday American collectors have no idea that they will be paying top $$$$ for this revered 'W' mintmark on their Unc. AGE's.
With such low mintages, these coins present the next most exciting "modern crap" collectable series, post Reverse Proof mania!!!!
So it does appear prices are rising after the 4-pc sold out at the Mint. >>

There was a surge in prices shortly after the fractionals sold out early this month -- 1/2's in the $500 range, 1/4's in the $290 range, and 1/10's in the $180 range. They've slipped a bit since, but hopefully will buoy back up once the final numbers hit NN & CW. I was disappointed that NN didn't post the sell-out in their last updates -- they showed a mintage of 10,513 but did not indicate a sellout. Lots of hype with the Jamestown commems...(UGG-LEE!)... ??

In the auction linked in the prior post the seller said "PCGS has discontinued the use of the 20th Anniversary American Flag Label. Coins coming back from PCGS now are in standard blue labels with no flag. "

Why is it, "A penny for your thoughts," but, "you have to put your two cents in?" Somebody's making a penny.

Does that apply for the Gold coins only or the Silver 20th Anniversary set too (in sealed box of course)?

This applies to the current crop of 2006-W gold coins that just recently sold out. The 3-piece gold set and the gold/silver set and the 3 piece silver set would still qualify for the label and for 1st strike so long as they're in a sealed box. Maybe I need to clarify my auctions if that's how you were interpreting my statement. BTW, "Big Guy" is my son. Thanks, Jerry

Correction: I just looked up some older auctions for the raw 1/2 oz. and some went for $500+.
So I guess the prices are still all over the place.
versus if you put up the whole set for bid at one time.
