Anyone know if they are going to do a 2007 RP ASE?
Just curious. Would be nice if it wasn't a one year thing.

Yeah, it will show up in the 10th Anniversary Platinum sets. Better start saving now...
Chicolini: Mint? No, no, I no like a mint. Uh - what other flavor you got?
I agree with Bear, though - the Mint has a winner in RP issues. If I had to guess, since the Mint doesn't need Congressional Approval in order to produce Reverse Proof issues, I'd say that the odds are better than 50/50 they will sneak a Silver Eagle RP into the mix this year.

It's a nasty habit that the Mint has developed - wait until you have as many sales as possible from one set, then release the next one - on and on, until about September. Then they come out with whole new generations of sets and an Anniversary Set that has the same stuff plus one more "specialty" coin that you need to complete the set.
Last year it was $14,800 or so to complete a 2006 Mint Set. Should we have a contest for the 2007 Grand Total?

with all the presidents and spouses on it. This will appear
in both Convex and Concave Formate with Satin Finish and
without Satin but brushed and combed finish. The silver part
of the coin will be clad in gold and the gold part of the coin will be clad
in silver. The coin will then be bronzed like a baby shoe. It will need to be the
size of a dinner plate and weigh 11 pounds. The cost for the two coins will
be 11,000 for the Convex and 11,500 for the concave with the same prices
for the Satin and the combed and brushed finishes. The face value of the coin
will be $ 1,129.23 . These coins will have the famous D mintmark for DUMMY!
Supply will be limited to the first 100,000,000 Americans that order. Remember, when
these coins are opened up to the 1 1/2 billion Chinese, you could be SOOL.

So, these are bullion coins then? Do you think I could get Mitt Romney to fling one across the Potomic, so that I can have it slabbed? Or would it be worth more if maybe Ted Kennedy rowed it across in a boat?
I knew it would happen.

Make that reflooding....
Then next year, the mint'll announce they sold 1,900 mint sets and everyone'll kick themselves for missing that boat.
<< <i> I don't know about an RP ASE, but I did read somewhere that the Mint is looking at a 3-Coin Plat Anniversary Set having a 1/2 oz. RP, a 1/2 oz. "W" Satin Unc., and a 1/2 oz. "W" Proof. >>
That would be my guess, which means that I will need two different '07 proofs for my set.
