TeleTrade - Has the quality of coins offfered gone down?

I have been purchasing from time to time coins through Teletrade.
Nothing enormously expensive (I buy from a few expensive but serious dealers for really important stuff).
The average cost of a TT coin I have bid for won't be over $1,000.
During the past year I have bought less and less because I have the perception that the coins being offered are not as good as they used to be.

    I picked up a PCGS MS69 Bullion Eagle from TT recently. I was very surprised;
    about one quarter (lower right) is covered by a large milk spot. This spot was
    barely noticeable on the listing. I will send this back eventually.

    I'm kind of selective for teletrade coins, so I haven't noticed a dropoff in quality
  • I've been buying about a coin a month off Teletrade for years. I've gotten really selective on my coin purchases the past year (collections actually completed image) so I can't say that I've detected a drop in quality on Teletrade. I have seen it on Heritage though. Sometimes I think there are more problem coins than ones without. I attribute it to a tight marketplace and lots of new collectors vying for the limited coins. The same pressure must be occurring at TT only they don't (yet) sell problem coins. Except for the holed 1877 IHC - go figure.image

    I guess the ones I choose to watch are a little fewer and farther between, so maybe it's dropped a bit. Can't really tell, though.

    I've only purchased 3 coins in the last 4 years from Teletrade. You can find some nice pieces from time to time, but in general I'm not very impressed.

    Back in the late 90's into 2000, the quality seemed better. I could be wrong.
