Do you get the same bang for your buck when you list on eBay on weeknights?

I've been wondering about this for a while. Seems to me like more people are on during the weekend, so you'd make more money (potentially) by listing your items so they end on a weekend evening. Am I right?

No. The only nights I avoid ending on are Friday and Saturday.

I did an experiment a while back where I ran a couple sets of auctions closing on a couple different weeknights - a Monday, and a Wednesday. I was surprised to find that the coins brought what I thought they should.

There are too many random variables to determine
absolutely that one day/time will always outperform
another day/time.

With 150,000,000 + shoppers out there, any of them
could show up at anytime.

I've had better success ending on Friday and Saturday nights than any time during the week.

What you thought they should based on the coin or the night they were ending? I assume what you're saying is there really was no difference ending an auction on Wednesday compared to Sunday. Of course you have to consider not everybody runs such nice auctions.

With more and more using sniping software, the less and less the ending time matters.

I've had good luck in the past with 7 day auctions ending on Monday nights.

I've tried a few different nights as well.
One thing I've found is that if you have a weekend covered, and the item is fairly "generic" (ie....modern crap or morgans), then closing on a weeknight may be better as there is less competition on the closing and people will snipe. I haven't had problems when I've closed on a weeknight and for some of my ASE 20th Annv stuff, awhile ago, I did better than some others that closed on the weekend (and, while I have 100% feedback, the rating is only 130...compared to some in the thousands)

For better items I list them 10 day with a gallery image, start them on thursday evening so they end on sunday evening and get 2 weekends....

Also, as a buyer - I hate it when one seller has a whole bunch of stuff end at the same time. I like to snipe everything and don't want to buy sofwtware, so if there are 2 or more nice coins I will only bid on the one i like the best.

I always end my auctions on a weekend night and it seems to work out fine IMO.

When I have consigned I asked for a 10 day listing starting on Thursday.
