Is there a circle crop tool on Photoshop?
I always wonder how some of you folks get those nice tight circles around your coins.
Is there a circular phot cropping tool on photoshop, or am I stuck with the square one?
I have photoshop 6 I think.

<< <i>Then invert selection and whack at it with the eraser. >>
Or you could just fill the background with white.

I didn't know this. Thanks! I always crop to a tight square around the coin, then use the circle selection tool from corner to corner. Copy and paste into new picture with white or transparent background.
If you can ask the question they have implemented that feature....

Once you have the circle where you want it, select the inverse (i.e. everything but the circle) by clicking Select, then Inverse (or use shortcut Shift+CTRL+I).
Once you have selected the inverse, click Edit, then Clear (or use shortcut Alt - E - E).
Once you clear the background, click Image, then Trim, then hit Enter. This will crop the image automatically to a square, the same size as the diameter of the circle.
I hope this helps. Here are some crops I have done this way:

Got it
Crop the coin tightly with the crop tool--I mean have each side of the crop tangent to the coin.
Take the elliptical selection tool and put the crosshairs in the exact center of one corner of the image. Click and drag diagonally to the opposite corner. This typically drags the ellipse right around the coin, and there's rarely much, if anything to delete. If there is, I usually start in another corner, select the coin, and invert the selection and delete a bit.

You don't need to use the eraser tool. I always use a black background. Many use white. Choose whatever color you want as background color. While your selection is inverted, press and hold the shift key and press F5. This will erase the background and replace it with your background color. Invert again and then crop. If it doesn't crop to the edge of the coin, then crop again. Then de-select and you're done.

This was a great, and timely, TTT ModernCrapNut, and I thank you, and those that gave suggestions and started the thread, very much!
Special thanks to RobertPr as his suggestion was exactly what I just tried and it works simply, quickly, and nicely!
Thanks all!
