Ok, I must admit...... I bit the bullet

I bought 2 ASE 20th aniversary sets today @ $175 a piece from my dealer. Purchased purely for investment purposes. Coins look all to be strong MS69's....

Good Investment, Bad Investment or Just Plain Stoopid?

    It's hard to tell.

Here's what I did back in November.

I bought 10 sets from the Mint, but I was a total newbie and I opened the box and ruined the chances for the special "Anniversary" or "first strike" or anything like that.

So, I sold my box of 10 raw sets and put the money toward 9 graded 69/69/69 sets witht the black "anniversary" label. I've been occasionally monitoring sets of this type, and although there are still many out there on EBAY, the prices are continually creeping up. When I bought mine, a price of over $300 was unheard of, but now quite a number have sold for over $300. Still, many sell for less, but the long-term creepy trend seems to be up.
