I am not sure about the name-calling, but I would like to see and learn more about the 1858-D $5 in 55. I had a difficult time finding an acceptable example for my collection.

OK it does say KIDDING at the bottom of the reply. I find it reassuring though the word is not pejorative as you "name calling"
make it. As, a matter of fact if the shoe fits wear it.
Getting back to the coin I like it and that's what matters when I get
it back I will post it. Regards, Michael

    prig –noun-

a person who displays or demands of others pointlessly precise conformity, fussiness about trivialities, or exaggerated propriety, esp. in a self-righteous or irritating manner.

Wow, this Prig thing is something else...........from Wikipedia:

A Prig (IPA: [prɪg]) is someone who shows an inordinately zealous approach to matters of form and propriety; especially where the Prig has the ability to show his/her superior knowledge to those who don't know the protocol.

Priggish-ness can be viewed as a symptom of Institutionalisation, whether that be in Politics, The Armed Forces or Public School.

A Prig is generally a passive-aggressive, instigating fights rather than partaking of them. The Prig is a survivor and will unconsciously attach him/herself to any group that would seem to further his/her prospects.

The Prig undertakes all projects with a definite sense of Smugness.

Barndog and Gold Bully, yes, and that is what happens when
we coin collectors get on a jag about moderns. I didn't really mean
to offend was just kidding about the remark as.......I said.
You see my thread was another "modern one" Regards, Michael

I submitted 8 Jamestown dollars. I just left the PCGS# blank.
My Gold uncirculated Jamestown commems are now showing 'In stock & reserved" on the US Mint's website.

Is PCGS still using the "first strike" designation, if so what is the cost?

  • Options
Should I mark anything on the "other" box. First strike or early release?
